How To Use Himalaya Herbals Protein Hair Cream?

It says on the pack, “Use it daily before and after hair wash. Massage on scalp and hair, leaving it for an hour before shampooing. Apply to damp hair after every wash.”

As you know at this beauty blog we do things a bit differently. As in my previous article on hair porosity I shared that heat helps in opening cuticles which helps in better penetration for the moisture into the hair shaft.

That is why, I applied the protein hair mask an inch away from my scalp concentrating well on my ends and covering entire hair length of my long Indian hair well and pampered my hair with hair steaming process using my thermal steam cap.

I kept the mask for 10 minutes before washing my hair with just water, following up with my sls-free shampoo and silicone-free hair conditioner.

It made my hair more smooth and manageable than before and surprisingly my hair tangles were to the minimum for next two days. Although it did left a little bit of a greasy feeling on my hair and my hair appeared weighed down.

So, I feel people who have oily hair might feel their hair getting greasy in a day after using this Himalaya herbals protein hair mask.

Summary

This protein cream smells amazing and leaves hair super soft and silky. If you have dry hair and want to give your hair that extra protein boost, then you can give it a try. I wouldn’t recommend it to people with oily hair or thin hair that lacks volume.

Availability

You can easily find this protein cream in your local stores or Himalaya’s online store as well as it is available on Amazon.

Side Effects Of Himalaya Protein Cream

  • The tub packaging makes the whole process a bit messy and unhygenic.
  • It weighs down hair so using it as a leave-in especially for people with oily hair or thin hair might nit be a good idea.
  • It contains added fragrance and parabens which might irritate people with sensitive scalp so make sure you patch test first and always apply this protein hair mask an inch away from your scalp.

Over To You

I definitely prefer using this Himalaya Herbals protein cream especially when my hair appears dry after excessive heat styling. It does help hydrate hair and repair damage.

However, it contains added fragrance and parabens that are harmful ingredients which might irritate your scalp so always apply it at least an inch away from your scalp. And it might not be an ideal product for people with thin hair or oily hair as it weighs down hair.

I would personally not keep it overnight on scalp since it contains parabens.

Himalaya herbals is also availabe here in the PH, so Thanks for this product reccomendation! With my hair being bleached and colored, I currently am experiencing frizzies due to the sweltering hot summer weather, and maybe this will help tame my locks! fingers crossed! :)
